Who We Are
Compass Speech Therapy is a private speech-language therapy pediatric practice servicing clients in South Carolina and New Jersey. In-person services are offered in Summerville, SC, while virtual sessions can be held via Zoom throughout the states of South Carolina and New Jersey.
Compass Speech Therapy provides screenings, consultations, evaluations/diagnoses, and treatment to pediatric clients given a wide range of communication needs. Treatment plans are unique and individualized for every client, which incorporates the ideas and concerns from the entire "team" — parents/guardians, school personnel, doctors, and related service providers.
Evidence-based treatment techniques and modern technology devices allow us to engage our clients and, in turn, see growth and development in their communication skills.

Lindsay Bach Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP
Lindsay, an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist since 2010, is the director, owner, and treating therapist at Compass Speech Therapy.
Lindsay was a Division I scholar-athlete at Penn State where she captained the nationally-ranked and 5-time Big Ten Champion Nittany Lions Women's Soccer Team.
Lindsay has extensive experience in the school setting. She began her career in the classroom as a fifth grade teacher in Northern Virginia, then made a seamless transition to being a school-based speech-language pathologist, working with students ranging from PreK–12th grade. Her work in the schools continued upon moving to New Jersey, where she worked as a Speech-Language Specialist in a NJ public school district with students throughout PreK–8th grade.
Since being in private practice, Lindsay has worked with children in a variety of settings including her office, daycares/preschools, and the child's home environment. Lindsay also uses the Zoom teletherapy platform to hold virtual sessions on a daily basis. Currently, Lindsay offers contracting services into school-based settings.
